WHAT ARE WE OFFERING ?

BMW Z4 E85 Cabriolet Convertible Hybrid Roof Motor & Pump suitable for ALL YEARS 2003-2009

Part number not required, but typically replaces 7016893, 54 34 7 079 586 or 54 34 7 193 44

 FREE 250 ml. of the correct Hydraulic Top-up Oil (in a handy applicator bottle).

SO WHY HAS YOUR UNIT FAILED ?

Due to a design flaw in the roof drainage channel on the passenger side where the Z4 roof pump sits ,the roof motor unit will eventually get wet, rust and stop.

The manual pressure release pin on the side of the pump body ( which can be activated by pulling the red Bowden cable handle in the boot/trunk area) may also seize and fail to activate.

This means the manual deployment of the the roof in either direction will NOT be possible.

COMMON SYMPTOMS

If your roof detaches at the front, your windows go down slightly but nothing else, your roof motor has most likely failed.In some cases it may just be really slow.

Its an expensive fix from BMW as they will only supply you a full Hydro unit and simply re-instal it in the original position where it will simply fail again.The cost for this Main Dealer solution ? Around £1'000.

OUR SOLUTION

There is a smart alternative.We can offer you an improved hybrid motor and pump unit that can be cleverly installed in one of two out of the

way locations in the boot/ trunk area. This unit does away with the need for a  Bowden cable as the pump is fully accessible from the boot.By virtue of the pumps new location it will never suffer water damage again.

PUMP LOCATIONS ? ITS YOUR CHOICE

There are two possible locations for this unit. The first is to hide it in the recess behind the rear near side suspension strut.OR mount the unit on the boot / trunk bulkhead.

 We offer two sizes of oil reservoir for either location.The small reservoir for the 'recess' location and a large reservoir for the 'bulkhead' location.
